All in Breakfast

3-Ingredient Clean Little Easter Eggs

Easter is certainly upon us! Everywhere I look I see eggs, bunnies, chicks and soooo (too?) much enticing chocolate. Of course we will be treating ourselves to some chocolate this Easter, but to even things up I have crafted a little frozen Easter treat made from just three ingredients - banana, yoghurt and berries - which is healthier and more nutritious that a chocolate Easter egg, but still feels a little indulgent.

Little Baked Eggs

The simplest of breakfasts or brunches, so I thought I would share with you my winning combinations for an easy mini pot eggs brunch. Quantities are approximate this time, just add as much as you like. You will need little ramekin style oven proof dishes. This makes a lovely family meal that you can all eat together, adjusting flavours to individual pots if you need to.

Bircher Museli Clean Little Tummies Style!

I’m always trying to mix it up at breakfast time to expose the Clean Little Tummies to different flavours. This week, I've added Bircher Museli to our breakfast menu. This recipe is an oldie but a goodie, and always a hit with the littleies, so I thought I'd share it with you. It uses simple store cupboard ingredients, mixed in with some fridge ingredient staples, which make it easy to make. There’s also the option of adding some lovely additions - like nuts, seeds or berries- to mix up the flavours and add extra nutrition. My favourite thing about Bircher Muesli is if you make up a big batch on a Sunday evening it can last up to three or four days in the fridge - so you've got breakfast sorted for the best part of the week before the week has even started! Win!

Carrot Cake Smoothies

Who doesn't love carrot cake? It is a firm favourite in this house and now I've created a smoothie which gives us a flavour fix without all the sugar and nasties. This makes a tasty breakfast or a good afternoon pick me up for tired mummies. You might think the grated carrot won't get paste your Clean Tummies but try it, mine ate it without knowing what was in it and were so surprised when I told them they'd just eaten carrots for breakfast! You won't know until you try!

Pumpkin Spice (Pancakes!) & All Things Nice

We're loving Autumn here at Clean Little Tummies. Yes, we are without a proper kitchen. Yes, we don't have a floor, and yes, our fridge is in the garage. But how can we not get excited by all the gorgeous Autumn feels that are around? The colours, smells and sounds get me every year - how is it all so beautiful? Walking to school every day, crunching through the leaves is one of my favourite sounds. And, of course, all the pumpkins that are everywhere. Is there an Instagram feed without a little white pumpkin going on? I don't think so.

Get Ready for Summer Holidays

As I write, we are in the last full week of school here in the UK, with six long weeks stretching out in front of us. I think every Mum (& Dad) in the country is filled with excitement - and terror. How lovely it will be to not do the school run for six weeks, constantly giving them time deadlines, 'hurry up we're going to be late, the bell has gone, come on...', and giving them some freedom to play and just be children. The flip side, of course, is less appealing: Sibling arguments, whinging when they don't get to do exactly what they want, and the constant need for food, snacks, picnics... and more snacks.

Summer Sunshiney Smoothies

We are in the middle of renovations this week so things have been busy here in the Clean Little Tummies household. And just as I felt like everything was falling apart, and it was all storms-and-darkness, pineapples appeared at our local market! Such a sunshiney, tropical fruit, and we've had the sunshine to match recently. This led me to think about some tropical flavoured smoothies and - in between walls being knocked down- I've managed to rustle up a little favourite of ours.

Chocolate Pancakes Fit For a Father!

With father's Day fast approaching, it is time to think about how we will treat our lovely, kind Daddy here at Clean Little Tummies. Daddy is often the bottom of the pile, but on Father's day we have chance to say thank you for all he does for us. Breakfast is a lovely way to spoil any deserving Daddy - and we have just the recipe for you (and him)! A clean, healthy recipe that tastes just as good as the real deal, tried and tested here at Clean Little Tummies, these pancakes will not disappoint.

Perfect Protein Pancakes with Blueberry Chia Jam

Once again Pancake Day is almost upon us - a fun excuse to heat up the pan and get some flipping going on. There's also the annual school pancake race to attend (important stuff!), so here I am with a quick protein-packed pancake option, not just for Pancake Day, but for any occasion you fancy. Perhaps Pancake Day can be the inspiration for your first batch this year.

Clean Little Breakfast Muffins

We're on half term this week, so our mornings have been slower, more relaxed and just generally more pleasant (and with a lot less nagging!) But, of course, this week won't last forever (sigh) so I'm here with a new breakfast idea that is ready to go first thing and also makes a lovely end of half term activity for your Clean Little Tummies.

Clean Little Tummies get out into the Clean Fresh Air: Active snacks for an active weekend!

This weekend we were lucky enough to grab some family time at Center Parcs Woburn and we had a ball! It is a great place for all the family, every need is catered for with small children and my Clean Little Tummies were in their element splashing around in the pool, hiking through the forests, throwing stones on to the frozen lake and being throughly spoilt by their Grandparents in our Scandi Lodge. Anyone who has been to Center Parcs will know that it is an active albeit exhausting break where everyone has the opportunity to be active and try things that are not usually on offer all in one place. Think pottery painting next to the bowling alley which leads in to soft play, the Aqua Sana spa leading off the badminton courts facing the climbing wall.

Apple, Raisin & Cinnamon Overnight Oats

Are you looking for something to brighten up those January mornings? Does all the fun and frolics seem like a million miles away? If so, I'm here with a new recipe for some overnight oats that will make mornings a lot more tasty and a lot easier when you present yourself and your Clean Little Tummies with little jars of flavoursome oats.

Goodnight 2016 & Thank You x

As 2016 draws to a close I thought I'd write a little round up of my favourite recipes since I started blogging. 2016 has been the start of new things for myself, Mr J and our Clean Little Tummies. We started the year by offering on a new house which then all went through in May, we've had new starts at school and at playgroup, first tastes and first steps and of course the start of Clean Little Tummies Happy Mummies.

Super Easy Blueberry Overnight Oats

Whilst porridge will always remain a firm breakfast favourite in our house, we have recently become fans of overnight oats. What's the difference? Porridge is cooked oatmeal, while overnight oats are oats soaked overnight in a liquid of your choice, usually milk and yoghurt, and served with your favourite toppings. Overnight oats are, essentially, a faster, and tastier way to get your hit of oats-ey goodness. And trust me, they are delicious!

Wholesome Apple & Blackberry Autumn Cookies

Who doesn't love autumn? It's the most beautiful time of the year. It's also the time of year when you can't go a Sunday afternoon family walk without a big tub for collecting blackberries; when the little tummies return home with blackened mouths and full tummies, having eaten more blackberries than they've collected! Which means... the perfect time for our Wholesome Apple & Blackberry Autumn Cookies.
