Plum & Cinnamon Crumbles
I don't think we can deny there is a slight autumnal chill in the air this week. I'm not ready to say goodbye to summer just yet, but when I was kindly given some plums this week I had to put them to good use in the form of a tasty crumble (with a healthier slant - of course). You can use any fruit you have that works well in a crumble - we will be adding apples in the coming weeks...Autumn is a generous time of year around here!
Simply cook up your favourite fruit, I added some cinnamon to these plums which was a nice twist and fortunately they were sweet, ripe plums so they made a lovely base for the crumble. Then add some of the crumble mixture on top and bake for 10 minutes at 180C. Check carefully as these little oats can burn!
To make the crumble you will need:
75g coconut oil
50ml maple syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
Melt the coconut oil, maple syrup and cinnamon together in a pan on the stove (or microwave)
Add 200g oats and stir well
Spread over your fruit and place in a pre heated oven until golden brown (approx 10 mins)
Enjoy as a treat after an Autumnal walk-perfect for warming those slightly chilling bones!
