Chocolate Pancakes Fit For a Father!
With father's Day fast approaching, it is time to think about how we will treat our lovely, kind Daddy here at Clean Little Tummies. Daddy is often the bottom of the pile, but on Father's day we have chance to say thank you for all he does for us. Breakfast is a lovely way to spoil any deserving Daddy - and we have just the recipe for you (and him)! A clean, healthy recipe that tastes just as good as the real deal, tried and tested here at Clean Little Tummies, these pancakes will not disappoint.
With only 4 simple ingredients to mix together and some classic Pancake flipping, everyone can have fun making a fuss of Dad.
Ingredients – this will make approximately 12 pancakes
4 ripe bananas
4 tablespoons of oats
4 teaspoons of raw cacao (or you can use cocoa powder in the same quantities)
How to do it:
Using a blender or food processor all you need to do is blend all the ingredients together, or mash the bananas and then add the rest of the ingredients, mixing well to form a smooth batter.
Now for the fun bit! The trick to these pancakes is to cook them on a low heat but for longer. This allows the mixture to cook through without burning.
Heat a non-stick frying pan on the stove and add a tablespoon of oil - coconut oil works well if you have it and adds a sweeter taste to the pancakes.
Pour the batter carefully into the pan forming circles about 10cm across; allow them to gently cook for about 3 minutes, and flip to cook the other side.
Serve in a stack drizzled with maple syrup, berries and a dollop of natural yoghurt.
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads!
