Carrot Cake Smoothies
Who doesn't love carrot cake? All that moisty, texture-filled, sweety goodness lathered in rich cream cheese icing. It is a firm favourite in this house - and now I've created a smoothie which gives us the carrot flavour fix without all the sugar and nasties!
This smoothie makes a tasty breakfast or a good afternoon pick me up for tired mummies. You might think the grated carrot won't get past your Clean Tummies but do try it - mine gulped it down without knowing what was in it, and were so surprised when I told them they'd just eaten carrot for breakfast! You won't know until you try!
You will need these ingredients:
1 small carrot, grated
1 tbsp oats
1 small, ripe banana
1 mejool date chopped into small pieces
250ml milk (we use cashew or almond)
1/2 tsp mixed spice
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
To make, place all the ingredients into a blender until smooth-pour and serve immediately. A delicious, filling breakfast for you and your Clean Little Tummies. This recipe is enough for three small portions so adjust the quantities accordingly for your family.
